My name is Ellie Gray and I probably have the most photographed animal in New Zealand (check out my Instagram account to see images of my beautiful Bengal cat, Nala).
I love an adventure, especially road trips around our beautiful country. My partner is a keen surfer and we love to set up camp for the weekend. I am lucky enough to have travelled the length of New Zealand and to have visited some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
I am well travelled and love any chance of a new adventure. Last year, 2014, I decided "hey let’s go live in France and see how that goes". It was fantastic. I ended up working on super yachts in the south of France and was lucky enough to visit some amazing places. However, none were quite as amazing as home and I now live on the wild west coast in Muriwai which I love. The beach is a short stroll away and I love to explore the area and incorporate it into my work. I have been lucky enough to photograph some beautiful people and places and living so close to a stunning beach is such a blessing. I love to get outdoors and always have my camera at the ready.
QUALIFICATIONS
I attended Diocesan School for Girls and then completed a Bachelor of Digital Design at AUT University. I have worked at a number of very well known photography studios in Auckland. I started off at Red Photography, a very busy family studio, where I learnt to work quickly and under pressure to get the perfect shot. I then moved on to being the baby whisperer at Jo Frances Photography where photographing newborn babies became both my passion and my calling.
I love working with children. As well as my photographic career, I have been involved with children for over ten years in various nanny roles. This has proved a huge advantage in photographing little ones. I am confident working with children of all ages, but particularly love newborns. I am social and love to work with my clients to create fun, joyful, beautifully styled imagery. Please don’t hesitate to call me to discuss your requirements.
